How to install, set up and test HRPoint, how to ask for help, and when we reply.

Install, set up and test

You need SharePoint Online in Microsoft 365, a SharePoint administrator for step 1 and a site owner for the rest. No Microsoft Graph permission and no licence key are needed.

  1. Add the app. A SharePoint administrator adds HRPoint to the tenant app catalog and deploys it. Until HRPoint is listed on Microsoft Marketplace, email info@apps365ltd.com for the package.
  2. Add the web part. On the communication site that will be your HR Hub, a site owner creates a page, adds the "HRPoint" web part (toolbox group Advanced) and publishes the page. A full-width section, or a full-page app, gives the most room.
  3. Run the setup wizard. Open the page as the site owner. The wizard creates the Workspace and Records sites as communication sites, or connects two you made, or keeps everything on this one site with weaker separation (only list permissions keep HR data apart), then adds the lists, SharePoint groups and permissions, and checks them. Settings, Sites and health shows the result at any time.
  4. Use every feature for 14 days. Every new set-up of HRPoint can use every feature for 14 days from the end of setup, with no licence key. After 14 days without a licence key HRPoint becomes read-only: everyone can still open their own records, balances and policies, and nothing is lost. Recording leave, absence and changes needs a licence.
  5. Try it end to end. Add a person (or import a CSV file), book leave and open "Explain my balance", approve the request as their manager, record a sickness absence, and publish a policy for a group to read.

Microsoft Teams

  • An administrator selects HRPoint in the tenant app catalog and chooses Sync to Teams (Add to Teams on the Manage apps page). People then open the HRPoint personal app, which lists the HRPoint sites they can open, and a team can add HRPoint as a tab; a team's site needs its own set-up.
  • HRPoint not in Teams? If your tenant blocks new custom apps, a Teams administrator allows HRPoint in the Teams admin center: Teams apps, Manage apps, HRPoint, Allow.
  • Approval cards, a daily approvals digest and a "who is out today" post in Teams come from three optional Power Automate templates: what they do and how to set them up.

Optional extras

  • Microsoft 365 Copilot: the separate HRPoint Policies AI agent and its optional actions. What it does and what you have to do.
  • Outlook: with the Messages add-on approved, an HR admin switches on calendar entries and automatic replies in Settings, Outlook.
  • Viva Connections: the HRPoint card is in the package, ready to add to your dashboard.
  • The People connector, the Shifts mirror and the Entra sync admin tool run on app registrations you create. Ask us for them, and see what each one needs.

Licence keys

A site owner opens HRPoint, chooses Settings, then Licence, then Enter licence key. HRPoint checks the key in your tenant and never shows it again after it is saved.

Once a day HRPoint tells us which licence it is using (no names and no HR records), so we can help with your licence. A site owner can switch that off in the same Licence section. Details are in the privacy notice.

Permissions

HRPoint works with each person's own SharePoint access, so people see and change only what the setup wizard's permissions allow. The security page lists every optional Microsoft Graph permission and what it adds.

Raise a support request

  1. Email info@apps365ltd.com.
  2. Tell us your organisation's name, what you were doing, what you expected and what happened, the address of the page where HRPoint is set up, and the version shown in HRPoint under Settings, then About.
  3. Leave out passwords, licence keys and your people's HR records. We never need them, and we will never ask for a password.

When we reply

We aim to reply within one working day: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:30 UK time, except UK bank holidays. Enterprise customers' requests are answered first. If something stops your organisation working, say so in the first line.

Security or data protection concerns: info@apps365ltd.com, or see security.txt.

Accessibility: our accessibility statement says how HRPoint is built and tested. To report a problem, email us and say it is about accessibility.

Common questions

Who can run the setup wizard?

A site owner of the Hub site. To create the Workspace and Records sites the person also needs permission to create sites in your tenant; otherwise make two communication sites first and choose Connect in the wizard. Running the wizard again only adds what is missing.

How do we approve the optional Microsoft Graph permissions?

A Global Administrator opens the SharePoint admin center, Advanced, API access, and approves User.Read.All for the Standard tier, or Mail.Send, Calendars.ReadWrite and MailboxSettings.ReadWrite for the Messages add-on. HRPoint shows in Settings which tier is active and what each permission adds.

Why can a manager not see a team member?

HRPoint gives a manager the people whose record names them as line manager, or who report to someone who does. Check the person's manager on their record; a change applies the folder permissions again the same day.

Why is HRPoint read-only?

The 14-day evaluation has ended and no licence key is saved, or the saved key has ended. Everyone can still open their own records, balances and policies. A site owner enters a key under Settings, then Licence.

Can we try HRPoint without real records?

Yes. An HR administrator can show the Demo company in Settings, under People source: fictional people, held in memory only, with nothing saved to your sites. A site owner or anyone in HR can also open it for one page load by adding ?hrdemo=1 to the address.

How do we remove HRPoint?

Remove the web part from its page and the app from your app catalog. Your sites, lists and records stay in your tenant until you delete them.
